Blueberry Bread

Ingredients

1⁄4cupshortening
3⁄4cupsugar
2teaspoonvanilla extract
1 egg
1 1⁄2cupall-purpose flour
1 1⁄2teaspoonbaking powder
1⁄2cupmilk
1cupblueberries

Instructions

Grease an 8-inch square pan. In a large bowl cream together the shortening, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.

Add the egg and beat well. Combine the flour and baking powder. Alternately add the flour and milk, beating well after each addition. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries, adding extra if desired. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake in a 375F oven for 20 minutes. If a glass pan is used, reduce the oven temperature to 350F.
